A feast of words in deepest Pembrokeshire

Bringing big literary names to an intimate village setting, this year's Llangwm Literary Festival will address key topics including fake news and journalistic freedom, writes Jenny White

WELSH novelist Sarah Waters tops the bill at this year's Llangwm Literary Festival, where she will be speaking with Ed Tanguay, her former art teacher from Milford Haven Grammar School.

"We've been trying to get Sarah for a few years, and I'm really excited about it because she's a great role model for people having built up an award-winning career as a writer," says festival director Michael Pugh.

"Every year we want to inspire people to write and create new work."

With this in mind, the festival will also include Write it with Ryan, a workshop with life coach Ryan Spence designed to get people motivated and organised to write the book they have always intended to write.

"He's going to be trying to work with people, trying to unpick it and come up with a writing plan," says Michael.

"In previous years we've had writers running workshops on writing, so this time we have a coach giving a session on writing for a change."
