THE final of the Yeovil & District Snooker League Scratch Singles took place on May 5 at the Martock Snooker Centre.

Contested by Rod Sully and Mark Padfield, it was the latter who emerged victorious 4-2 in a closely fought match.
Padfield, who was competing in his maiden final, had beaten John McNiven 3-1, Nick Sully 3-2 and Mark Turner 3-2 to reach the show-piece - overcoming three county standard players who represent Somerset A to lift the title.
‘The following day, the final of the Handicap Singles Cup was held in the snooker room of the Ilminster Bowling & Tennis Club.
