A PROTEST march demanding a police investigation into a Bristol defence firm descended into heated scenes after being met by counter-demonstrators.

Police separated the two groups

Police were yesterday forced to intervene when pro-Palestine campaigners marching from Elbit Systems UK in Aztec West were blocked by a group waving England and Union flags.

Officers stepped in to separate the two sides on the pavement of the A38 Gloucester Road as tensions flared near Patchway Police Station.
