'Flagship' project's taking shape

A MASSIVE new logistics facility is taking shape on the site of Swindon’s former Honda plant, with a 545,000 sq ft distribution centre set to be completed in early 2026.

Progress at Panattoni in Swindon

McLaren Construction (Midlands and North) has been appointed by Panattoni to deliver the major project at Panattoni Park Swindon - marking its first scheme with the developer in the South West.

Unit 4, a 545,414 sq ft warehouse and distribution facility, is being built on the brownfield site formerly occupied by Honda, which ceased operations at the site near the M4 and off the A419 in 2021 - and where many people from across the West Country worked.

The facility will include two storeys of office accommodation and a decked car park, alongside new roads, service yards, car parking, hard and soft landscaping, drainage and building services.
