THOUSANDS EXPECTED AT STAR'S FUNERAL

EXTENSIVE preparations are being made in a Denbighshire village hosting the funeral of Welsh rock star Mike Peters.

Thousands of fans as well as famous names are expected to travel from around the world to pay tribute to the legendary frontman.

A huge number of mourners are anticipated for the service in Dyserth at 3pm on Thursday.

Details of the arrangements have been revealed as the village's 2,300 inhabitants brace for the mass arrival.

A road closure is planned after the Peters family liaised with Denbighshire council and North Wales Police.

Big screens will be erected to relay the invitation-only service to fans outside the small parish church of St Bridget and St Cwyfan on Waterfall Road.

Following the service, a celebration of Mike's life is planned with an evening of music at his family's The Red pub opposite.

Extra areas for gathering opposite The Red, and around the entrance to Dyserth's famous waterfall, are being made available.

The frontman of The Alarm, who battled cancer for 30 years, lived in Dyserth.
