Global fireworks icons gather for international spectacular in Danang

Danang’s annual fireworks extravaganza will bring together many big names in the world of fireworks, from long-established European brands to highly successful Asian teams and representatives who have achieved high rankings in previous seasons.

This year’s Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) is expected to deliver one of the most exciting competitions since the event began. The opening night will take place on May 30 with a competition between the Danang team and the Chinese team.

Organisers believe DIFF 2026 to have the feel of an all-star event, bringing together numerous champions, long-established fireworks brands, and teams with outstanding achievements in international competitions. The event has already made its mark by being selected by Travel+Leisure magazine in the top 10 most worthwhile festivals on the planet.

The event will take place until July 11, with five qualifying nights and a final. Over 10,000 seats will be available each night, with the grandstands under construction and on schedule. They will be inspected for safety and fire prevention before May 27.

The opening night of DIFF 2026 will feature not only fireworks displays but also a large-scale art concert along the Han River with the participation of local artists such as Ho Ngoc Ha, Hoang Hai, Ha Nhi, and Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, among others.

The programme will also be more vibrant than ever, with a show comprising nearly 70 professional dancers and more than 30 international artists from Sun World Ba Na Hills, and MCs Quang Bao and Thuy Van on the opening night. The performances will be staged to combine modern art with the spirit of celebrating the beauty of Vietnam and the youthful, dynamic image of Danang.

The entire event will see a total of 26 accompanying activities, many of which will be held simultaneously in Danang and nearby Hoi An.
