Council moots Beck Theatre parking charge

A WEST LONDON council is considering introducing car parking charges for theatre goers at one of the borough's most loved venues.
The Beck Theatre, in Hayes, which temporarily closed down in 2024 following a fall out between the previous operators and Hillingdon Council, may begin charging £2 for every four hours of parking.
It is currently free for theatre patrons to park at the venue.
It is expected that the £2 charge could generate up to £45,000 for the cash-strapped council, which must meet tight saving targets to avoid issuing a section 114 notice, effectively declaring bankruptcy.
The council has set a £50,000 income target for parking services in 2025/26 as part of its saving plan.
