Man accused in Hajtamiri case also wanted in U.S. rapper's death. Deshawn Davis could face a possible death sentence for the killing of a rapper in Florida last year.

He’s charged in the high-profile kidnapping of a woman who police believe was murdered.
But before a Toronto man can be held to account, he may first face a charge for the execution-style killing of an American rapper — a crime that carries a possible death sentence.
This week, the U.S. Marshals Service announced that they had arrested Deshawn (Thorobread) Davis, 36, of Toronto.
Davis had been on the lam. He was wanted for the abduction of Elnaz Hajtamiri of Richmond Hill in January 2022, and also for the 2023 killing of rapper and music producer Lowell (Lo) Grissom Jr. in Miami Beach, Fla.
He was arrested Monday in the tiny town of Redway, Calif., 333 kilometres northwest of San Francisco.
Canadian and U.S. law enforcement officials said Wednesday it’s too early to say when and where Davis will appear in court next. Brady McCarron of the U.S. Marshals Service declined to say whether Davis was on his way to Florida.
“For the safety and security of all parties involved, we do not release that information until any transport is complete,” McCarron wrote in an email.
