So, it's official, the Toronto PWHL team will play its home games in the upcoming season at the CocaCola Coliseum at Exhibition Place.

Bigger rink is a win for team, but fans lose out on intimacy

Tickets go on sale Thursday! For those of us who've been avid fans since day one, this is great news.

Their inaugural season at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in the old Maple Leaf Gardens was magical, giving fans almost everything they could want except a championship.

But one thing it didn't give them was enough tickets. Mattamy seats only 2,600 people. Every single game sold out in minutes.

The Coliseum, also home of the Toronto Marlies, seats 8,140. That means there will be more than three times as many tickets available for each game as there were last year.

That's great for the team, and great for fans.

Though there are some trade-offs.

The move will introduce some scheduling oddities, for one, since the arena will be shared not just with the Marlies, but also with the Royal Winter Fair (the event for which the venue was originally commissioned by the city in 1920), which means both teams have to take a long road trip in November.
