'WE'RE NOT STUPID... BUT STILL BELIEVE

MARCUS TRESCOTHICK claimed England "still believe" after a chastening day on the wrong end of the record books at Edgbaston.

Ben Stokes (left) and Co, 72-3 overnight chasing a monster 608 to win the second Test against India, are a distant 100-1 with the bookies and rampant India are on the warpath.

But after Barmy Army diehards chanted "Stand up if you still believe," assistant coach Trescothick revealed: "In the dressing room we all stood up as well."

Realistically, England will need to mount their first rearguard action of the Bazball era to escape with a draw, but Trescothick (right) said: "We appreciate there's a lot of runs to score tomorrow, but we are always trying to be as positive as we can.
