A LOT has weighed on George Morrison's mind since Tamworth pulled Tottenham out of the hat.

- NEIL MOXLEY

The George Cross

But probably not as much as landed on him when the teenager learned a big lesson three years ago.

For a lad of 19, Morrison's face is showing the scars of a player twice his age.

A badly broken nose, one two-inch scar under his right eye and a smaller one under his left.

It would be some tale to tell if they were inflicted during the heat of footballing battle.

The truth, it appears, is somewhat less heroic for the midfielder.

"I dropped a dumbbell on my face in the gym when I was out injured," he said, rather coyly. "It smashed my nose and everywhere.

"That was three years back. It slipped off a bar at my local gym was actually rehabbing my hamstring and I was bench-pressing.

"It was 80kg and it was my fault, which made it worse.

"It made a right mess of my nose.

Everything went numb.
