New boss Van Persie: I suffered same isolation at United... we will give him the love he seeks
RAHEEM STERLING has been looking for love... and he's found it at Feyenoord.
That's the message from his new manager and Premier League legend Robin van Persie.
Sterling has signed for the Dutch giants until the end of the season, with an option for a permanent deal, and will make his debut next Sunday in the Eredivisie.
Former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Van Persie says Sterling is Dutch football's “biggest foreign signing ever”.
But he also knows what pain the 82-cap England forward has been going through getting bombed out by Chelsea - as Van Persie suffered the same fate at Old Trafford.
The Dutch boss admitted: “Raheem is a great player with a wonderful character.
“He has chosen the ‘love of the game’ and hopes to rediscover the joy here in Holland.
“We are going to help him with that. He has already proven everything in his career.
“What he is looking for is trust, warmth and love again.”
Van Persie recalled: “At the start of Raheem’s career, I played against him in the Premier League.
“Now we are here in Rotterdam, his first stint abroad.
“It is the biggest foreign signing we have ever had in Dutch football.

CONSIDERING he objects to the United Kingdom being \"colonised by immigrants\", it is a touch ironic that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is having to set aside the best part of £16million to pay off a small group of foreign workers.
