Insurance bills rise 37% since Covid to £1,326 a yr

THE cost of insurance has surged by more than a third compared to before the pandemic, research shows.

A typical household is paying £1,326 a year for car, home, travel and pet cover - 37% or £360 more than the £969 they shelled out in 2019.

Annual premiums for motor insurance leapt 32% from £589 in 2019 to £777 this February, according to comparison website Confused.com.
