I climbed Everest crash after horror almost killed me

Former estate agent Simon Clark, 44, was so badly injured in the crash that paramedics called him "the most broken man in Britain".

His spine and neck were broken, leaving his head connected to his body by only muscle and skin.

Doctors predicted he would never again walk, talk, eat or even breathe by himself.

His life changed in a split second in October 2019 on a shopping trip when Lindy, 57, his partner of 20 years, lost control of their car on a bend.

imageThe crash killed Lindy, but as Simon lay in a hospital bed, he promised himself he would prove doctors wrong and also climb to Everest base camp.

In September he achieved his goal, saying: "It wasn't easy. I was supported by one Sherpa and one porter to climb to base camp.

EMOTIONAL

"In the first few days that we were on the 12-day climb, four people out of 12 who were attempting it had to be.

airlifted off the mountain.

"They were experienced.
