Now is a good time to think about improving your sleep hygiene, according to Superdrug Online Doctor's Dr Babak Ashrafi. He describes a good routine as a "ritual for success" which sets you up for a peaceful, restful night.

Dr Ashrafi explains: "This means things like keeping a regular sleep schedule, creating a cosy sleep space, and steering clear of late-afternoon coffee.

"When your sleep hygiene is on point, you're more likely to get the deep, restorative sleep that helps you feel refreshed and energised."

Including reading, light stretching or a warm bath in your bedtime routine can help you wind down, the GP says.
