Howe knows Wilson could ruin reunion

‘HE WAS MY FAVOURITE FOR A LONG TYNE’

CLAPPY DAYS: Callum Wilson with Eddie Howe while at Newcastle and (inset) celebrating his goal at Forest

WHEN Newcastle line up against West Ham at the London Stadium today, they could well come up against a very familiar face.

Callum Wilson spent five seasons at Newcastle and quickly captured the hearts of the Toon Army with his goalscoring exploits.

Wilson joined from Bournemouth during a difficult time for the club under Steve Bruce's management but still scored goals on a consistent basis.

That continued after Eddie Howe became boss in the post-takeover era and there were few players who deserved to be on the pitch more than Wilson when Newcastle finally ended their 70-year domestic trophy drought in the Carabao Cup Final win against Liverpool at Wembley in March.
