BIG MAC OPENS THE D'OR TO BRIT STARS

ON one day of my time covering Wimbledon this summer, an unfeasibly stylish young man appeared outside the media centre.

He looked familiar, but I just couldn't place him.

Ah, well. Must have seen him on TV or something. Probably an actor in some Netflix job.

Next day, his picture appears in the gallery of celebrities who were at the All England Club. And the ultra-cool dude was? Scott McTominay.

Talk about a double-take. Honestly, the young man looked like a movie star. Which was appropriate. From bit-part player to box-office headliner.

Actually, 'bit-part player' is more than a touch harsh. Having been there since the age of five, McTominay (below) was a fantastic servant of Manchester United and contributed a lot of fine performances.
