RUBEN AMORIM insists he is still the man to turn around Manchester United - despite defeat at Brentford piling the pressure back on him.

Amorim has taken just 34 points from 99 since being appointed boss nearly a year ago and won just nine of his 33 Premier League games in charge.

The defiant Portuguese said: "I'm always doing my job.

"If I win, I'm in a different state of mind. That is normal, but I'm confident, because I know what to do. I'm not here just to protect the players. I'm trying to do what is best for the club and the team. But that is the pressure here. So I'm just thinking what is the best way to win the next game."
