Water • Healthcare sector can do more to help cut usage

While households are encouraged to reduce water use, large institutions such as hospitals can also explore ways to enhance conservation efforts.

The healthcare sector is one of the largest institutional consumers of water, using it extensively for cooling, sterilisation, patient care and sanitation.

While maintaining high hygiene standards is essential, there are opportunities to reduce water wastage without compromising patient safety.

Many hospitals in Singapore have already taken steps towards water efficiency, and expanding these initiatives could yield even greater savings.
