On the opening day of his new flagship at Takashimaya Shopping Centre on Nov 6, Hong Kong-based American hair maestro Kim Robinson is a man in motion.

Bustling through the bright, shiny interior of his salon on the third floor, the 67-year-old oversees every detail with the precision and passion that have defined his decades-long career.

"The modern generation likes to be seen. They want to take photographs," he says.

Reflecting this shift, the 4,000 sq ft flagship, which replaced his original second-floor salon that closed in September, embodies Mr Robinson's vision of a modern, luxurious concept with a bright, open layout and private VIP rooms for those seeking discretion.
