JOHOR BAHRU - Faced with a cooking oil shortage, some Ramadan bazaar traders in Johor are forced to visit multiple supermarkets to secure enough supply.
Ms Fatimah Sarudin, 36, said she first noticed the cooking oil shortage at the end of 2024, with the severity fluctuating over the past few months.
"The problem has been on and off since the end of last year. Sometimes, I can get a 5kg bottle of cooking oil with ease, but other times, I need to visit two to three supermarkets just to find one.
"At times, I also have to opt for more expensive cooking oil as it is the only option," she said.
