A knife attack in Hougang in the late morning on Dec 10 left one woman dead and two others, including the suspected assailant, injured.
The 34-year-old woman, who is believed to be a worker at the hardware store where she was attacked, was seriously injured during the attack and was found with stab wounds.
A 26-year-old man, another worker, was also wounded, the police said.
The 42-year-old suspect, believed to be also a worker at the store, has been arrested, said the police in a statement.
The police said: "He was found with injuries sustained during the attack and was conveyed to the hospital. Preliminary investigations revealed that all parties are known to each other."
When The Straits Times arrived at the scene at about 2pm, a woman in her 60s working at a nearby department store said she heard loud screams coming from Quan Long Nippon Paint hardware store at about 11am.
