NOTTINGHAM - Hat-trick hero Chris Wood hailed Nottingham Forest's ability to bounce back as they thrashed Brighton & Hove Albion 7-0 to reignite their charge towards next season's Champions League at the City Ground on Feb 1.
Morgan Gibbs-White, Neco Williams and Jota Silva were also on target after Lewis Dunk's own goal opened the scoring in an astonishing performance from Nuno Espirito Santo's men, as they banished the ghosts of a 5-0 defeat by Bournemouth last weekend.
Wood told TNT Sports: "What a difference a week can make. Down in the dumps after last week. It wasn't us, it wasn't like us, but today that was definitely us.
"It is all credit to the team. This lad (Anthony Elanga) puts it on a plate for me so it makes my job easier every time. Then Morgs (Gibbs-White) handed me the penalty for the hat-trick. It's fantastic."
Victory takes Forest level on points with second-placed Arsenal, with fifth place in the Premier League this season almost certain to be enough for Champions League qualification due to a strong start by English clubs in Europe.
