World No. 3 trying to tune out the hype after reaching singles final at Roland Garros

ALCARAZ TURNS A DEAF EAR TO FANS

The year just keeps getting better for world No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz.

The Spaniard has been in red-hot form, having won the French Open and Wimbledon this season, and on Aug 2, he advanced to the singles final of the Olympics tennis tournament after beating Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Alcaraz, 21, was totally dominant on the red clay of Roland Garros where he was victorious in June, clinching a 6-1, 6-1 win on Court Philippe Chatrier in just 1hr 15min.

By doing so, he became the youngest player to reach the men's singles final since tennis returned to the Olympics at Seoul in 1988.

"It's gonna be difficult for sure, but it's gonna be special. I'll try to focus on myself. I'll try not to hear all the fans and people saying I'm gonna win," Alcaraz said of the title showdown.

"It has been an objective since the start of the year to try and win the gold medal and now we have one match left to get it done. I just want to give my 100 per cent and my best tennis, have fun in the final and do the business.

"Hopefully I'll reach my goal to get the gold."
