Actor Kiefer Sutherland arrested after assaulting ride-share driver

British-Canadian actor Kiefer Sutherland was arrested and booked into jail in Los Angeles on Jan 12 after an encounter in which the police said he assaulted the driver of a ride-share vehicle and made "criminal threats" towards that person.
Sutherland, best known for playing Jack Bauer in the television drama 24 (2001 to 2010), was released from custody after posting a US$50,000 (S$64,400) bond, according to county jail records available online.
The 59-year-old has a court date scheduled for Feb 2, the records say.
