Hailstorm in Uttar Pradesh wreaked havoc on Wednesday night, with 22 people dying in different incidents in the past 24 hours in the state.
In the past 24 hours, at least 20 districts of the state, including Lucknow, Ghaziabad, and Noida, received heavy rains, while Meerut and Baghpat experienced hail.
Reports of deaths in the storm and rain-related incidents were three each in Meerut, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Ghaziabad; two each in Noida, Saharanpur, Kushinagar, and Sonebhadra, while one each in Ferozabad, Gorakhpur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, and Jhansi.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the officers of the districts concerned to conduct relief work promptly.
