Gujarat: Congress to hold AICC national convention in Ahmedabad on 8-9 April

Congress MP and party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Sunday highlighted the Indian National Congress's long-standing association with Gujarat and announced that the next AICC meeting is scheduled for 8-9 April in Ahmedabad, under the presidentship of party leader Mallikarjun Kharge.
In a post on X, Jairam Ramesh said: "The Indian National Congress was established on 28 December 1885. It first met in Gujarat at Ahmedabad from 23-26 December 1902, under the presidentship of Surendra Nath Bannerjee. The second time the INC met in Gujarat was at Surat from 26-27 December 1907, under the presidentship of Rash Behari Ghose. The third time the INC met in Gujarat was again in Ahmedabad from 27-28 December 1921, under the presidentship of Hakim Ajmal Khan."
