The 2nd year medical student who was allegedly gangraped on the night of 10 October not far from the college campus has identified Firdos Sheikh, a former employee of the college, as the rapist.

This was revealed in the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court this afternoon while hearing the bail pleas of five of the six accused. The court rejected the petitions.

The Test Identification (TI) Parade (under Section 54 of the BNSS) of five of the arrested accused was conducted inside the Durgapur Sub-Correctional Home at Fuljhore here on 24 October under the supervision of the ACJM, Durgapur, Shubhrakanti Dhar.
