Moroccan film on mutilated bodies gets applause at KIFF

A Moroccan film on mutilated human bodies of albinism victims being used for witchcraft in parts of Africa found huge applause among audiences on the Saturday afternoon.

The movie name Africa Blanca revolved around a protagonist duo of mother and son, who are a victim of albinism and tried to flee their country of origin in Senegal due to fear of being killed by sorcerers. The film beautifully portrays human emotions and the sufferings of the victims of albinism in various countries of Africa.

Albinism is a genetic disorder where one is born with less melanin pigment than usual. This results in a range of appearances, from very light skin and hair to normal pigmentation, and is often accompanied by vision problems such as reduced visual acuity, sensitivity to light, and crossed eyes.
