The State Governor, C. V. Ananda Bose, today lit the inaugural lamp at the Adhi Haldhar Para Jagaddhatri Puja in Chandannagar.
The Governor delivered his speech in Bengali. He was full of praise for Bengal’s rich heritage, tradition, art, and culture. Upholding the glory of Bengal, he recited the patriotic song written by Rabindranath Tagore — Banglar Maati, Banglar Jol, Banglar Bayu, Banglar Phol, Punyo Hok, Punyo Hok, Punyo Hok, He Bhagwan.
He then recited Sanskrit verses and shlokas in praise and glory of Goddess Jagaddhatri.
