In record first, Indian Space Research Organisation successfully launches India's heaviest ever satellite

In a record breaking effort, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Sunday evening successfully launched India's heaviest ever communication satellite, the 4,401 kg CMS-03, into orbit.
The CMS-03 satellite, also named GSAT-7R, is meant to replace the GSAT-7A satellite. After a smooth 24-hr countdown, the home grown rocket LVM3-M5-also India's biggest, nicknamed Bahubali - lifted off majestically from the Second Launch Pad at the Sriharikota High Altitude Range at 5.26 p.m.and after a flight duration of about 1,000 seconds successfully and precisely injected the satellite into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) with an inclination of about 24 degrees.
