HNG employees up in arms against ex-promoters, demand forensic probe into ₹1950cr settlement deal

The Workers' Union of Hindustan National Glass (HNG) has now taken up with the key financial regulatory and investigative bodies, demanding a comprehensive forensic investigation into the Rs 1,950 crore settlement proposal offered by the erstwhile promoters of Hindustan National Glass & Industries Limited (HNGIL).

The union has raised concerns over potential financial misconduct, including fund siphoning, tax evasion, and regulatory violations, urging the Income Tax Department, Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) to act without any further delay.

In a strongly worded letter addressed to the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Kolkata Circle, and the Director General of Investigations, Kolkata, the HNG Industries Thozhilalar Nala Sangam (CITU-affiliated workers' union) has called for immediate scrutiny of the proposed settlement funds.
