Govt Increases Fair And Remunerative Price Of Sugarcane By 4.41 Per Cent To ₹355/Quintal

The government on Wednesday decided to increase the fair and remunerative price (FRP) of sugarcane by 4.41 per cent to Rs 355 per quintal for the upcoming 2025-26 season beginning October.
A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeping in mind the interest of sugarcane farmers, an official statement said.
The rates are increased at Rs 355/qtl for a basic recovery rate of 10.25 per cent, providing a premium of Rs 3.46/qtl for each 0.1 per cent increase in recovery over and above 10.25 per cent, & reduction in FRP by Rs 3.46/qtl for every 0.1 per cent decrease in recovery.
