The Asansol Division of Eastern Railway has achieved significant progress in operational performance from 1 April 2024 to 16 March 2025, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in freight and passenger services.
Freight volumes increased by 8.34%, rising to 54.59 million tonnes (MT) from 50.38 MT in the same period last year. This growth was driven by the transportation of coal, stone chips, steel, cement, fertilizers, food grains, and fly ash.
