A sudden change in leadership at the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has created a buzz in academic circles, coming immediately after the conclusion of this year’s written Higher Secondary examinations.
Sources in the education department said that Partha Karmakar, currently serving as co-secretary of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education, will take over as the new president of the Council on 2 March. He is expected to assume charge on Monday.
