TN Assembly session: Oppn to corner DMK, rake up Karur stampede

The Monsoon session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, commencing on Tuesday, is expected to be stormy with the opposition led by the AIADMK training its guns on the ruling DMK on a host of issues, including the Karur stampede which claimed 41 lives during the rally of actor Vijay.
Earlier on Monday, the Business Advisory Council which met at the chambers of Speaker M Appavu, took a decision to have the session for four days till 17 October. Being the last session of this year, it is obviously convened to pass the supplementary estimates for 2025-26, to be presented by Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu.
