Superb extra-time strike by Jamie Maclaren hands hard-fought victory to Kolkata giants in front of their home crowd

Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) capped off a superb season with a 2-1 victory against Bengaluru FC to win the Indian Super League (ISL) Cup at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday evening.
Mohun Bagan, who had already won the League Cup for the second consecutive time earlier this season, thus completed the domestic double after winning the ISL Cup for the first time.
The Kolkata giants have now featured in the ISL final for the third successive time.
MBSG came from behind after trailing by a goal to successfully cap off the league double for the first time, having already clinched the ISL League Shield this season, and have concluded the current campaign unbeaten at their home ground - the iconic Yuva Bharati Krirangan.
They are just the second team after Mumbai City FC to win the League Shield and the ISL Cup in the same season.
Mumbai City FC had managed to pull off the feat during the 2020-21 season of the ISL.
With the teams locked at 1-1 after regulation time, Jamie Maclaren exploited a defensive lapse before coming up with a superb finish in the first half of extra time which ultimately proved to be the difference on the night.
