McLaren Dominates F1: Norris vs Piastri for the Crown
The Statesman Kolkata
|August 23, 2025
Though its summer break in formula 1 paddock, but one can sense the uneasiness in the garages about the progress of the McLaren which left everyone astonished.

It has dominated the first half of the season with little or no challenge from the rest of the constructors.
McLaren is on the pole position now, and the competitors have hardly any answer to this onslaught. Fourteen races completed and ten more to go. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri of McLaren are vying for the top spot. It is widely believed that one of them will be crowned as the new formula 1 world champion by the year end. So Verstappen has to postpone his pursuit of equaling Schumacher's five consecutive world championship titles for now.
McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has made some specific comments about the ongoing success of his team. They have won eleven out of fourteen races before the summer break started, and Stella is extremely confident of continuing with this success in the remaining ten races to follow after the break. He highlighted two major points which have worked in their favour. First and foremost, there is no superstar in the driver line-up. Both Piastri and Norris are competing for the championship title without any team orders in place.
Probably they are the only top team after a long time where management is treating both the drivers on the same page. There is no number one or two; both are championship material and both are number one, and they are being treated equally. It is a proper team journey, and this includes the drivers too.
