Falling in line with PM Modi's call for fuel conservation, TN Governor Arlekar cuts down convoy size

Toeing the line of Prime Minister Narendra Modi drastically reducing his convoy size to reduce fuel consumption, Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Saturday ordered a significant reduction in the number of escort vehicles accompanying his official convoy.

According to a statement issued by Lok Bhavan, the Governor has directed the officials to scale down the convoy strength from ten vehicles to just four, with immediate effect.
The decision applies to all his official engagements, including visits to government institutions and participation in public and private functions.
