The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed the Calcutta High Court on Friday that it has yet to receive the required approval from the Raj Bhavan to proceed with the chargesheet filed against Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Manik Bhattacharya in the primary teacher recruitment scam case.

- STATESMAN NEWS SERVICE

The same applies to former secretary of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education, Ratna Chakraborty Bagchi.

Both Bhattacharya and Bagchi have been named in the chargesheet, which was filed by the CBI in October.

The CBI also named Bibhas Adhikari, former TMC president of Nalhati Block No. 2 in Birbhum district in the chargesheet but as Adhikari does not currently hold any government position, separate approval is not required in his case.
