Gill won ICC Men's PoTM for July after scoring 754 runs vs Eng in his first Test series as captain
India Test captain Shubman Gill and England spinner Sophia Dunkley were on Tuesday named the ICC men's and women's Player of the Month for July, respectively.
Gill claimed the men's award after edging out England Test skipper Ben Stokes and South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder. This marks his fourth Player of the Month honour, having won earlier in February this year and in January and September 2023.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a stellar July, amassing 567 runs at an average of 94.50 across three Tests, including a double hundred and two centuries in six innings. It was Gill's first tour as India's Test captain, and he said it was a nice honour to be recognised.
