Kerala Police chief Sheikh Darvesh Saheb has recommended Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) M R Ajith Kumar (photo) for the President's Medal for distinguished service, despite the controversies surrounding him.

Once approved by the state chief minister, the state government will forward the recommendation to the Centre.
