Managing Committee approves queue system inside Jagannath Temple

The newly-constituted Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee at its first meeting on Wednesday formed a sub-committee for implementation of Dhadi Darshan (queue system) at Natamandap (inner sanctum area) of the temple.

The much delayed move is aimed at regulating the crowd of devotees inside and ensuring smooth darshan of the deities without all the jostling and pushing that takes place everyday.

Briefing media persons after the meeting, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator, Arabinda Padhee, informed that the separate queue will be senior citizens and children. Ramps will be provided for the differently abled.

He said 14 sub-committees have been formed to advise the core Managing Committee on the governance and administration. Girish Murmu, former CAG, will head the new sub-committee on security while other committees have been constituted for finance, rituals, ratna bhandar, land holdings of the Lord etc.
