Madhya Pradesh govt extends ₹5 crore assistance to flood-hit neighbouring Chhattisgarh

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday announced financial support of Rs 5 crore to the neighbouring state of Chhattisgarh witnessing heavy rainfall, which resulted in a flood-like situation in some areas for the past one week.

An amount of Rs 5 crore along with some essential materials for flood-affected citizens of the neighbouring state will be provided to the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister's relief fund, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav told mediapersons in Bhopal on Sunday.

Expressing his concern, Chief Minister Yadav stated that due to extensive rainfall for the last few days, floods have occurred in many districts of Chhattisgarh, causing loss of lives and properties worth several crores.
