Established protocols followed, says MEA after UK media reports of kin of AI-171 crash victims receiving wrong bodies

Rejecting a British media report which alleged that two families in the UK received the wrong bodies of the victims of the 12 June Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, India on Wednesday, said the concerned authorities had carried out identification of victims in line with established protocols and technical requirements.
The tragic Air India plane crash resulted in the deaths of 260 individuals, including 229 passengers, 12 crew members, and 19 people on the ground in Ahmedabad on 12 June.
"We have seen the report and have been working closely with the UK side from the moment these concerns and issues were brought to our attention," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in response to media queries regarding a report in the Daily Mail on the Air India crash.
