THE South African Police Service (SAPS) in Tshwane has successfully recovered a hijacked truck with medicine worth more than R2 million following a coordinated and rapid response that unfolded across multiple policing units.
According to SAPS, the incident occurred at approximately 08:00 in the Wierdabrug policing area, where a Freightliner truck transporting Codeine medication was hijacked while en route to its destination.
The value of the cargo is estimated at around R2.5m.
Tshwane District Police spokesperson Captain Johan van Dyk said the truck's tracking system played a crucial role in the operation.
