1 The Pointer Sisters

The legendary US R&B group’s Performance is part of their I’m So Excited World Tour.

The trio, which comprises Ruth Pointer, together with her daughter, Issa and granddaughter, Sadako, will serenade fans at Cape Town Grand Arena tomorrow before making an appearance in Pretoria on Sunday.

Their Mzansi shows will also include belting from their hit tunes fans can hear and can expect to hear their repertoire of hits from the 70s and 80s. The Pointer Sisters have been captivating audiences for decades with their signature blend of pop, soul and funk. Founded by sisters Ruth, Anita, Bonnie, and June, the group rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s with hits like I’m So Excited, Fire, and Jump (For My Love). Ruth has now continued their legacy with family still at the forefront of their operations.

“Together, they bring a fresh yet nostalgic energy to the stage, keeping The Pointer Sisters’ timeless sound alive for new and old fans alike,” a statement read.

They added: “The Pointer Sisters promise an evening of non-stop energy and nostalgia and fans can expect a set list packed with their Grammy-winning hits and global chart-toppers that will keep them contract dancers of memories.”
