Workers subdue 'monkey dust' man kicking off at pharmacy

Women took shelter after he tried to attack them as disturbance was captured on CCTV

AVIOLENT man thought to be high on monkey dust was caught on camera ‘kicking off’ at a city pharmacy.

Security footage shows a seemingly agitated man sitting on a plastic seat inside Norfolk Street Pharmacy in Hanley. He gesticulates at staff then stands up, grabs a holdall and waves his arms.

Workers block the doors and one calls 999 as the man, believed to be in his 30s, continues to act erratically.

He then appears to try to get behind the counter and to a back dispensary room where two customers were sheltering.

Pharmacist Navid Kaleem said the man was ‘causing chaos inside the store and threatening violence!’
