Woman fled in her pyjamas after partner whipped and kicked her in vicious attack

The 32-year-old, below in 2021, wrestled with the victim over her bag and the strap broke. Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard he struck her on the back with the strap and then kicked her in the chest before putting his fingers in her mouth, knocking out one of her teeth and causing her to bleed.

The terrified victim fled the house in her pyjamas.

Now Ridge has been jailed for 14 months.

Prosecutor James Hudson said the victim had been in a relationship with Ridge for seven years before the assault. The victim said there were issues but he was never violent towards her.

But at 8pm on August 23, 2023 she went to collect Ridge from work and he told her to go away. She returned and after about 45 minutes he appeared and got in the car.

Mr Hudson said: “He had been drinking and was boisterous. He immediately started giving her grief. He accused her of sleeping with a number of other men. They got home at 10.30pm. The atmosphere was awkward. The victim went to bed. The defendant followed her to the bedroom.”
