£1.39m plumbing and insulation scheme
REPAIRS are being carried out to 100 freezing council houses across 23 Stoke-on-Trent streets.
Forty of the homes are in Chell where asbestos is being removed along with plumbing and gas works, loft insulation, cavity wall insulation and roof and fascia improvements.
A further 40 more properties are in Norton.
Similar repairs are also being carried out in Abbey Hulton, Smallthorne, Cobridge, Tunstall and Penkhull.
It comes after Stoke-on-Trent City Council was awarded £1.39 million Government cash.
It follows similar improvements to 70 homes in Smallthorne.
